The 2021-22 NBA season is off to a roaring start, with young and old talent rocking the crowd. Of all the younger players around the game, certain players are worth discussing more in-depth. These under-25 players are guys we cannot stop watching or bringing into conversations.

The team was lucky to take him at #2 in 2019, especially considering all of the health issues that Zion Williamson has suffered from since entering into the league. Among all of the NBA’s young players, Morant is somebody who will always be standing out. He gets better and better.
Jayson Tatum
Jayson Tatum is off to another roaring start for the Celtics. His efficiency has tailed off just a little, averaging the exact point total as last year on three more attempts per game. But, he has a lot to offer and is somebody that can always be counted on. Tatum is already a superstar who makes big plays on the big stage.
He is only 23 years of age and has an All-NBA team selection under his belt. Playing with 25-year-old Jaylen Brown has been very good for him. The two of them form a fantastic tandem, some nights taking turns as the alpha. But 96 attempts through four games is a bit much for JT.
They both bring a lot to the table, but we should make sure shots are there for some others. That will be the next step in his growth.
Trae Young
The Atlanta Hawks were a #5 seed in the East last year, so they did not have any playoff expectations. Well, they were able to take things to the conference finals, coming within two wins of making it to the promised land and, at the same time, dealing with some pretty significant injuries.
It is no surprise just how talented the team has proven to be, and all it took was a competent head coach. Trae poured in another 31 points to lift the team past the Pelicans in a thriller. He hit some clutch shots, as he has been doing since his first preseason go-round.
Young has appeared in 208 games and has averages of 24 points and nine assists. He has not yet missed a free throw in 2021-22. And he will win a title before too long. He is a bonafide star who can pass the ball and any other young stud in the game. And, he has only just turned 23—so much time left to tear it up.
Zion Williamson
If only he could stay healthy, Zion could be on this list. But until a firm timetable is set, we’ll talk about the guy who usually is his sidekick. Brandon Ingram is playing very well, as the Pelicans have continued to do a lot of losing. There is a lot of negativity there, but they did bring in a new coach in Willie Green. A new era began.
This is not like when they had Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday. Winning is hard, as they have shown with all of the coaching hirings and firings in the past couple of years. And there is even strife in the front office. After back-to-back years averaging 24 ppg, BI is putting up 26 a night, making 48% of his attempts through five contests.
His minute totals are up around 37 per contest, but it’s to be expected given the health situation. He is a natural leader who is closer, too. Watch for him to return to the All-Star Game this year.
Miles Bridges
A name that was not supposed to be here yet, but Miles Bridges. He ranks #5 in the league in total points and averages three makes from deep per game. He has eclipsed 30+ points in three of their first five games, and with LaMelo Ball struggling a bit, he is picking up all of the slack.
Bridges was supposed to be good, but not like this. Playing with Terry Rozier sliding in and out of the lineup has allowed him a chance to seize a top leadership and playmaking role on the floor. He is showing that he can do a lot more than throw down crazy dunks. He will look to stay hot and get the Hornets some more impressive wins.
Anthony Edwards
Minnesota has a superstar big named Karl-Anthony Towns. They also have the former #1 overall pick Anthony Edwards, who is getting better and better. And some even believe he is already the team leader. Given his incredible effort and ability, it would not be a surprise to hear folks have those thoughts.
He averages 25 points per game to open the season and is coming off a stunning finish a year ago. He can make play after play and is showing he can also find open teammates on occasion. Minnesota has long suffered in the basketball world, a franchise that has 31 years of history and very little to show for.
With Antman around, though, things will change. For the better. Don’t sleep on the Wolves this season.
De’Aaron Fox
De’Aaron Fox has been an absolute beast for the Kings in recent years. The former #5 overall pick averaged 25 points and seven assists a season ago. His 2021-22 beginning has been a bit slow, but he will fix his game. The Kings are looking pretty solid for the first time in a long time.
As they maneuver to try and end the longest playoff drought in the sport, plenty of obstacles will get in their way. It’s not easy to go out and win in this league. But Fox is a guy who can help take them to the next level. He has been playing his game so perfectly and could finally end his All-Star drought.
Watch for the Kings to remain relevant in the playoff discussions in the late stages for the first time in a long. Fox is the real deal, and his teammate Davion Mitchell could join the list before too long. Same with Tyrese Haliburton. Young studs.
League is Full of Young Talent
As noticed from the words written above, there are a lot of terrific young Players Under 25 in today’s NBA. So many names to watch, to keep track of. With all of this talent, the league is in excellent hands. The future is now. There is no doubt about that.
Hopefully, Zion can get healthy and have an excellent, long career. He has so much potential. But injuries and weight issues have been prevalent.
