Based on a manga series featuring the superheroes, My Hero Academia glances into a section of humans, where most of them possess superpowers or “Quirks.” The director of the series Kohei Horikoshi has started the series in 2016, which is still running and available on Netflix. The show has stolen much critical attention, and one of the prime interests of the fans of this show revolves around the question: how old is Eri? So, let’s quickly have a glance at the story of Eri quirk.
Table of Contents
Eri and Deku
Among these quirks, some are good, and others are evil. This provides the central conflict line of the story, which follows the journey of an average human child Izuku Midoriya towards becoming a superhero. Izuku Deku Midoriya was not born with these superpowers, but he aspired to be a superhero.
For this reason, his childhood friends were also bullied very much. Thus, after he meets All-Mighty, his journey towards becoming a superhero starts. (Zolpidem) Joining the U. A. High School took him one step closer to the dream. It was here that he met Eri.
Eri MHA
The rift between the good and the evil superhero is a dominant subplot of this series. Stuck in this rift is the favorite character of My Hero Academia. She is a very powerful quirk. Thus, many fans often seem to ask the question of how old is Eri. However, this power also makes her vulnerable to some malicious villains of this universe.
The character is a lovely, talented, yet traumatized young girl studying at the U. A. School. Her quirk is one of the most powerful among the lot. The superpower of MHA Eri allows the rewinding of someone’s body into its earlier state. This is one of the most lucrative superpowers in this universe.
However, the writer and director portray her as a lovely girl. So, housing this superpower in this sweet character has evoked much controversy in this series. Thus, everyone also seems to ask how old is Eri?
The series is a manga adoption. We all seem to ask about the relationship between Eri and Deku. Deku and Eri met at the 128th manga chapter, and Deku is the only kind towards her.
Eri’s power
The evil forces used My Hero Academic Eri and her superpowers to make a drug that destroys quirks. Kai Chisaki harvested her blood to make this drug. In this way, he could use this power to revert to a state where the quirk was yet to be activated.
Also, she could touch someone and then use the quirk. However, in that case, she had first to build her power, leading to horn formation on the head, and only after that could she possibly use it.
Eri’s power allowed her to rewind or bring back any earlier state of a human and hence avoid accidents, losses, or injuries, and it basically could undo what fate had in store for them.
She also regressed her father into an earlier state, which proved her power might. This also led to her mother’s disowning, which culminated in her falling under the influence of Kai.
However, the terrible fate could be stopped, and she was rescued and admitted to U.A. School. This also leads to the question, How old is Eri? She got ill while Kai imprisoned her, which inflicted severe psychological and physical trauma.
The bandages around her legs and arms covered all her scars. As her memories of being happy were minimal thus, her encounter with Deku has been very blissful.
Whenever the question arises of how old is Eri, fans seem to ask whether she can rewind herself. Eri MHA is shown as a 7-year-old girl. So, it is only hypothetically viable that it is her re-winded self.
Thus, when she was rescued, Deku didn’t call her weird, making her break into happy tears. However, there is no such romantic tinge between the two characters, and she looks up to her as the elder brother she never had.
Eri and Mirio Togata
Mirio Togata was not always very welcoming of Eri, and they didn’t have a good bond initially. After he became aware of her condition, he was immensely guilty of his choice of action.
He even lifts her to see a performance of Deku. So, we know another elder brother-type figure arriving in Eri’s life.
Eri and Shota Aizawa
Another guardian figure in the spectrum is the shady character of Shota Aizawa, who does everything to make Eri happy. He makes Eri learn about several types of holidays and customs.
After recovering from Overhaul’s torture, Shota was also a rehabilitator for Eri.
He also teaches her to control the superpowers that she possesses, and eventually, that will let her better control herself. Thus, this character does his best to guide Eri towards excellence, and he takes better care of her mental and physical growth.
Eri and Ochaco Uraraka
When she dresses as Santa, she gets particular fond likings from Ochaco Uraraka, like an elder sister. This 7-year-old had several guardian angels around her under whose care she was leading a very peaceful life after days of Overhaul’s torture.
Hado and Eri
A cute sisterly relationship develops between Hado and Eri. While Hado excitedly welcomes Eri at the festival, Eri gets taken aback by the former’s beauty. Hado, like a caring elder sister, decks up Eri and gives her comfort when Eri’s horns are troubling her.
Eri and Neito
A kind of problematic relationship grows between Neito and Eri when the latter learns about the fearsome characters of Neito. She starts avoiding him and also gets frightened when the former appears to copy the superpower of Eri.
However, this doesn’t stay. Neito becomes better and becomes like her big brother.
Ten times you can’t stop caring about Eri my hero
We read a lot about the sweet interpersonal relationships that Eri chan shares with others. But, now let’s talk a little about the adorable moments of the series or the manga where no one stops themselves from admiring little Eri for her cuteness.
Tragic moments
Eri saves Deku
Let’s start with one of the most tragic sequences shown in the film. The time when Overhaul and Eri have an encounter is also the time when Eri and Deku are seen together for the first time. When Deku tries to save Eri by fighting with Overhaul, she jumps in to save the former.
Eri falls sick
Another tragic moment is when, after defeating Overhaul, she falls sick. She develops a very high fever, and her peers take her to the hospital, where she is quarantined. However, even if she physically recovers, her mental trauma continues taking a toll.
While she is in the hospital, others wait for her to recover. Even when she does recover, everything has changed forever. Many heroes are no longer alive, and Nighteye has also died.
Eri doesn’t smile anymore
The damage that Overhaul did was beyond repair. Her mother had also abandoned her in her early years. So, she doesn’t have anyone to hold on to. This has been a cause of concern for little Eri from the very beginning of the series.
Now, after so many onslaughts, she doesn’t know how to smile anymore. Mirio and Deku are very concerned about that and want a normal childhood for her. But, they have nothing else to do except bear a persistent feeling of helplessness.
Eri tries to save everyone
Eri remains as the super-savior of the series. At the end of the series, Lemillion and Deku once again encounter Overhaul. Even if they fight their best, Overhaul overwhelms all their efforts. The chances of someone rescuing Eri again hit a bottomless pit.
Deku submitting to injuries is something she cannot fathom. Thus, he gets back to Overhaul to fix things. But, her innocent belief brings a bad fate to her. Therefore, this gradual crumbling of all the positive thoughts and faith breaks the viewers’ hearts.
Eri?s past
Another tragic moment is when she comes to know that Overhaul isn’t her father. Kai Chisaki brutally experimented with her as her mother abandoned her, and she had no awareness about herself. He even made bullets that destroyed quirks by misusing her superpowers.
Thus, in this way, she started believing that she could do good to nobody and could only bring misfortune to whoever she met. This also served as a block in her relationship with Mirio and Deku. However, the two assured her that she was the sweetest girl in the world.
Adorable Moments
Eri meets Mirio and Deku for the first time
This magic in the tragic sequence comes from her looking up adorably to Deku and Mario. She is a very innocent character and doesn’t know the evil world as much. However, she can very well understand the vibe between Deku and Overhaul.
Thus, she becomes reliant on Deku while rejecting Overhaul, who imprisoned and traumatized her.
Lemillion tries to protect Eri and succeeds
Another adorable moment is when Eri takes a backseat as a protector, and Lemillion is the protector. As a change of scene, Lemillion manages to overpower Overhaul. The spark in her eyes that someone could demolish her torturer boosted Lemillion to go beyond his limits and fight with supreme veracity.
Eri, who is accustomed to the fact that no one will stand by her side to protect her, gets astonished when she witnesses Lemillion’s effort. She starts to build her castle of hope when Mirio says that they won’t allow anyone else to harm her anymore.
Eri joins Deku’s battalion
However, Lemillion isn’t all-powerful throughout the series. When he falls, Eri still clings on to her hope and joins Deku’s battalion. She has the power of rewinding to make Deku fit from the previous wounds. After that, they defeat Overhaul, and Deku makes her realize that her superpower is her blessing, not a curse. She should take good care of the power and not let evil forces misuse that.
Mirio and Deku try to cheer little Eri
Mirio and Deku, like two big brothers, try to cheer her up whenever she is down in the hospital. Constantly, they remind her that Eri should not see herself guilty, and nothing happened because of her. Instead, they try to bring a kind of self-awareness into her to become conscious about her importance.
Eri gets her smile back
One of the most favorite moments from the series is when she smiles once again. Both Mirio and Deku were concerned about her childhood. So, when Deku finally comes up with a plan to retrieve her happiness, that becomes one of the sweetest moments in the entire series.
Deku seeks permission from the principal to invite her to the High School’s festival. When he agrees, Deku starts making arrangements. The jubilant dance performance of class 1-A revives her happiness, and she instantly tunes to the music and liveliness of the environment. Thus, finally, Eri MHA gets back her long-lost happy childhood.
