FaZe Clan vs paiN Gaming
As we have said earlier, FaZe Clan has made its debut in the BLAST Premier: Spring Finals with a 2-0 victory against paiN Gaming. The Brazilian team considered probably the weakest team of this event. And so it has been, because when the Group Stage had debuted, paiN Gaming was devastated by the Americans both on Ancient and Inferno. There was too much difference in the levels of team. You can use the cover.gg website to check their statistics and results along the entire match. Meanwhile, our expectations from the match between FaZe Clan and paiN Gaming are listed right below.
Map 1: Ancient (16-7)
Win rate for FaZe: 66.7% on 6 maps played
Win rate for paiN: 71.4% on 7 maps played
The confrontation started on Ancient as the paiN Gaming’s pick, where the club managed to stand out. FaZe hit first to the point of getting a solid 7-3 lead on the CT-side. However, paiN won the 6 rounds on their T side and managed to finish 9-6 the first halftime. After the change of sides, the American organization played a dynamic T side with an excellent performance by Finn “karrigan” Andersen and Helvijs “broky” Saukants, both players finished Ancient with 2.36 and 1.69 ratings. For the second half, FaZe won a 7-1 partial, putting the 16-7 in Ancient and the 1-0 on the scoreboard.
Map 2: Inferno (16-6)
Win rate for FaZe: 69.2% on 13 maps played
Win rate for paiN: 64.3% on 14 maps played
Subsequently, Inferno did not offer any kind of response from paiN Gaming. The reigning champions of the IEM of Katowice had more individual talent and, unlike the first map, they did not relax at any time. The T-side in Inferno, as always, was decisive for FaZe. The team set the 11-4 before the change of side. Helvijs “broky” Sukants and Havard “rain” Nygaard were a deadly duo. The Norwegian generated advantages with the initial losses and the Latvian did the rest. The map ended 16-6 with FaZe ceding only two rounds to their rivals as terrorists.
FaZe Clan vs G2
Group A of the BLAST Premier: Spring Finals ended up with the loss of FaZe Clan against G2 Esports. Both teams has already secured the exit from the Group Stage and had to win to qualify directly for the playoffs. The European organization has acquired a direct ticket to the semifinals after defeating its opponent 16-7, 13-16, and 5-16. Below, you can find how FaZe played the entire match against G2.
Map 1: Inferno (16-7)
Win rate for FaZe: 69.2% on 13 maps played
Win rate for G2: 87.5% on 8 maps played
FaZe Clan dominated the European team in Inferno, where in the last three months, they had been unbeaten. The Americans started from the anti-terrorist side and planted an outstanding defensive wall by granting only two rounds to its rival. After the change of sides, G2 couldn’t repair the damages from the first half and finished with a 16-7 loss on Inferno.
Map 2: Ancient (13-16)
Win rate for FaZe: 66.7% on 6 maps played
Win rate for G2: 25.0% on 4 maps played
The dynamics changed completely in Ancient. G2 Esports became strong from the CT side thanks to Nikola Kovac “NiKo”, who was largely responsible for 9-6 favor in the first half. From the T side, the situation became more complicated for the Europeans, but an intelligent in-game leader Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen, unraveled it, and helped his team to make 16-13 in the end.
Map 3: Dust2 (5-16)
Win rate for FaZe: 66.7% on 9 maps played
Win rate for G2: 70.0% on 10 maps played
The decider map for this match was Dust2. The European organization played a dynamic T-side to take the 11-4 in its favor. The domination of G2 was reflected in a great duo of the 17-year-old AWPer Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov and Nikola “NiKo” Kovač. From the anti-terrorist side, they continued damaging FaZe’s economy and put 2-1 on the scoreboard with a 5-16. With this victory, G2 has acquired a pass to the early semifinals of the Spring Finals.
