Rated Battlegrounds (RBG) in World of Warcraft are 10v10 skirmishes. There are other larger battles where 40 people take part on each side, but this is more casual PVP without rating. The first RBGs appeared in the Cataclysm. Modes and Tactics on RBG
Battlefield tactics differ from the classic 2v2, 3v3 arena. Here they win not by the number of killed opponents. There are two main RBG – capture points and capture the flag. In capturing points, a team of 10 people is divided into three small groups. The tank most often remains on the closest one, which is located to your cemetery. Capture the flag differs from the previous version in that here the team is divided into only two groups. One is sent along with the tank to capture the enemy flag, and the second is trying to protect his own. The cemeteries are equally spaced on both sides so that the heroes do not have an advantage when respawning. You can win in this mode after you bring the enemy flag to your castle three times.
Additional features on the battlefields
Each map has its own specific tactics, based on the set of classes in the squad. Experienced Rlys try to keep a balance so that there are not many flimsy heroes or overkill in tanks. On each map there are places where strengthening buffs (bloodlust, run speed, ability cooldown). Only one person can pick it up. It is advisable to prioritize which of the characters needs a buff for damage, and which for running speed. Such things are done by the raid leader, who distributes the group members by roles.
